What is the Hypertext Garden?

In a hyper-specialized world, the Virtue of Irregularity falls on deaf ears.

Discovery algorithms bucket humans into a WYSIWYG mentality. The magic is lost; one mustn’t stray too far from their assigned category.

With the young internet, serendipity was the norm, not the exception. It was chaotic, but identity was of lesser importance. Content flowed from genuine curiosity.

Instead of being quietly ushered towards “relevant” works, we should strive for irregularity. Exploration begets creativity. Specialization kills experimentation.

As you walk through this hypertext garden, I hope you wander off the algorithmically paved path.

In these overgrown shrubs, may we rekindle the entangled spark of the original web.
